Dr Chris Bell
Dr Chris Bell is the principal dentist and owner of MSDS. He studied at the University of Melbourne form 1978 – 1983, and has proudly been caring for his patients since then. He has a general practice covering all aspects of dentistry with a particular interest in crown and bridge and orthodontics. He is continually keeping up-to-date with the latest techniques and protocols to ensure that each patient receives the best in dental care. He has an outstanding reputation for doing great quality, honest dentistry which is why his patients are continually recommending family and friends to the practice. He has patients who travel a long way to see him as he has earned their respect and trust over the years. It is so rewarding to be treating first, second, third and fourth generations of families, and being part of their health and wellbeing. Outside of dentistry he is married to Cathy and has 4 adult children. He loves golf, bike riding, wine, food and travel and socialising with family and friends.
Dr Sath Sivaananthan
Dr Sath Sivaananthan graduated from La Trobe University in Bendigo in 2014, and has been working at MSDS since 2015. Originally from Brisbane, Dr Sath has been living in Victoria for over 8 years. As part of his undergraduate degree, Sath spent much of his time travelling around regional Victoria working at community clinics. During this time, his affinity towards regional Victoria grew, and he now considers Shepparton his new home. Sath enjoys all facets of dentistry and makes it his job to ensure patients feel comfortable and relaxed when in the dental chair. He has a particular interest in restorative treatment and periodontal management, but also in motivating patients to improve their oral health. Outside of dentistry, Sath leads a quiet, healthy and active lifestyle. In his spare time, he watches and keeps up to date with all the highlights and scores of sports across the globe.
Dr Jyoti graduated from Latrobe University in Bendigo in 2017. After growing up in Melbourne, she enjoyed the change involved in moving to the country to pursue dentistry. Dr Jyoti did her clinical placements in Mildura, Ballarat, Melton and Bendigo and loved the welcoming and community-centred presence of these rural and regional towns. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular interest in restorative and periodontal management, as well as preventative dentistry. Jyoti’s kind and understanding nature allows her patients to feel at ease during dental treatment. She is passionate about the importance of oral health education and takes pride in empowering her patients to better their oral hygiene. Outside of dentistry, Jyoti is a lover of tennis and likes to keep herself busy with exploring new restaurants and cuisines, travelling and experimenting with new recipes.
Robyn Battista has been employed by MSDS since 1988, and is now the manager of the practice. Her role has evolved over the years and she has had experience in many and varied roles throughout the practice. She is passionate about dental health and believes that every patient deserves the best in dental care and advice, and believes that everyone should receive a positive experience and great service. She is also passionate about employing and training amazing dental staff so that MSDS can provide the most caring, empathetic and professional service that this practice is renowned for. She is married to John and has 5 children. In her spare time she loves getting out and enjoying time with family and friends, music and loves cooking, especially Italian inspired cooking.
Hannah Keady has been working at MSDS since 2013. She started as a trainee, and we are proud to say is now our senior dental nurse, promoted in 2016. She is a bubbly and enthusiastic young lady and has an infectious smile and has the kind of personality that is welcoming and warm. Hannah has a real passion about dental health and oral hygiene and assists both Dr Bell and Dr Sath. Her role is diverse throughout the practice, from chair side assisting, staff training and laboratory work such as mouthguards, retainers and splints, stock control and some reception work. When she isn’t working, she likes to spend time with friends and family, and loves to travel.
Angela Gale was employed at Maude Street Dental Surgery and completed her Certificate in 2007 and worked here for 5 years before moving away from Shepparton. She moved back to Shepparton, and we are delighted that she is back with us. She has an incredibly warm and calming quality which the patients love. She assists both Dr Bell & Dr Sath and is very experienced with all the treatment services we provide. She is an asset to MSDS – and she also makes amazing cakes for staff birthdays, so she is very popular amongst the staff!!
Olivia Hanlon is our most junior team member who started in 2016 as a part-timer who comes in after School to work. She has already learnt a lot about dental care and is enjoying being part of such a professional team. You will see her in all areas of the practice, and will be learning lots more this year which will help her journey as a dental assistant here at MSDS. She is currently doing VCE and is hoping to go off to Uni next year.
Chelsea Bassett started with MSDS mid 2016 as casual qualified dental nurse, and now works full-time assisting both Dr Bell and Dr Sath. Chelsea is already an important part of the team, and is showing that she loves the dental profession and is learning about all the procedures MSDS does. She was recently married and lives in Kyabram. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family, cooking and is house-hunting.
Emma Fothergill was employed as an unqualified assistant in 2016. She is already proving to be a great dental assistant and she possesses a quiet and calm personality which is reassuring during assisting. Emma She will commence her Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting this year which is exciting for both her and the practice, and we will offer lots of support during this time.
